Traditionally regarded as a vanquisher of ghosts and evil beings, and reputedly able to command 80,000 demons, his image is often painted on household gates as a guardian spirit, as well as in places of business where high-value goods are involved. Hand held toy（手把件 ）- a piece of art (usually carved object made by stone, wood or metal) that you can hold in hand and play with it. In traditional Chinese folk art, scholars like to collect small art object (similar to netsuke) as collectable to place on their “working station” (a place where they write poem, drawing ink painting or practice their Chinese calligraphy). Its a way to show their taste of art; getting inspiration of creativity since these creative arrangement since each item is unique.
