Hand made necklace mala with olive pit beads and large carved Handsome Monkey King pendent.

One large pit miniature carving of Monkey King Wu Kong bead is used as the main bead below the guru – a icy Nanhong agate 南红冰飘 ring. Necklace is stringed with a red cotton Tibetan hand rolled rope string. Ending with a tassel.

The carving illustrate the handsome monkey king, Sun Wukong, the Heaven-born Sage from the Mountain of Flowers and Fruit. In the novel of journey to the west, adult Monkey King has mastered all magic techniques from the Taoist Master Shu Puti and returned home. Soon, he discovered, the Mountain of Flower and Fruit was raid by a Demon King and many of the monkeys were captured. With rage and furious, he soon found the Demon. The Demon king was no match to the monkey king who has already become an immortal. The story unfolds as the handsome monkey king is summoned by the Jade Emperor 玉皇大帝 and offered a position as the stable horse feeding staff from the heaven. Upon knowing it’s such a low ranking position without pension and he is not invited to the annual ceremony of longevity peach 🍑 festival (蟠桃会) party. The carving illustrates the emotion of confusion and anger once monkey king realizes he was offered a low rank job in the heaven.
