Rudraksha 108 Bead (8 mm) Mala with DZI – Zhong Kui The Demon Queller
A mala made by 108 super fine rare 8 mm x 6 mm dragon rudraksha and 12 (10 mm) hand carved pit bead with exquisite detail. On each of the pit beads, it was carved with one of a kind Zhong Kui’s head.
Zhong Kui (Chinese: 鍾馗) is a deity in Chinese and also Japanese mythology (where his name is pronounced Shōki). Traditionally regarded as a vanquisher of ghosts and evil beings, and reputedly able to command 80,000 demons, his image is often painted on household gates as a guardian spirit, as well as in places of business where high-value goods are involved. Beads: 12 Zhong Kui beads separate the mala in to 14 sections of 7 – 8 – 8 – 8 – 8 – 8 – 7 -guru- 7 – 8 – 8 – 8 – 8 – 8 – 7 beads .
(10 section of 8 beads and four section of 7 beads = total 108 beads).
The pit carving beads act as protective beads along with the mini dragon rudraksha.
Main Bead: is a beautiful antique red long oval cylindrical agate with nice phoenix like pattern.
Guru Bead: solid nanhong red agate bead
Pendant: DZI Bead- uniquely Vajra (the gada) shaped DZI bead with totem like patterns. Acquired from a Tibetan vendor from China.
