This type of bodhi seeds are from the seeds of Tibetan cypress trees (Ci Xiang), originating in India, now growing in Yunnan and Tibet. It usually planted or grown around temples. The branches and leaves are often used by the monks to soak in water with heat. The water then is used to cleanse the body which is considered to wash away all negative energy from body and mind. The leaves and fruits of Cypress trees also have certain medicinal value. Leaves and fruits can be directly used as medicines. They have the effect of clearing away heat and purging fire, and cooling blood and detoxifying. After a year of reciting mantra, the seed will naturally change color to dark brown and with a nice glossy surface.
Surface of these beads are very smooth and will become more shinning after you wear for long time.
