Antique Chinese OX Horn Merchant Seal

A beautiful antique Horn made Chinese Merchant Seal from Republic of China (1912 – 1949)

Carved with Chinese characters of business or brand name.

Here are the break down of each character and its English translation:

天  Sky, the superior.
顺  Peaceful, alone the same direction.
昌  To flourish, to prosper, to thrive.
号  Number/pseudo name (Usually used in the last character to indicate a brand name or shop name. Commonly used in Chinese old language before PRC)

Some of my search indicated it is possibly a tea trading brand in southern part of China or manufacture of Chinese paper art.

Very cute item for private collection. The surface of the seal is well oxidized has an nice black opaque hue.
