About ZenMu

Our Treasure Hunts

Some of the artifacts that come to you through ZenMu are the result detailed hunts from our associates, our own trips to trade markets of Asia and around the world. Carefully chosen items go into handmade works created by ZenMu. The history, culture and meaning of all items play an important role as ZenMu crafts each work of art to respect and preserve cultural lineage.

ZenMu workshop

Vintage style prayer beads from all over the world are my passion, particularly those made with bodhi seeds. What I learn from this comes through my store, and most of the items are hand made with care and unique designs.
I also love to collect Chinese antiques, specially wood carvings. One day I was Inspired by a friend who loves rudrakshas, and I began collecting rudraksha beads from different regions.  As I collect, I study the color, shape, pattern as well as its meaning from different ethic backgrounds and religions. Ultimately, I connected with the best rudraksha source in Nepal, and fall in love with the world of different bodhi seeds. Here at ZenMu, I share what I learned from the world and the products I love.
Below are some photos from one of our trips to the Orient…

Our Associates

Mr. Y seed trader

Mr. Y. is one of our direct associates in Nepal.  He handles the finest materials and blessed items.  Mr. Y is a fascinating man who escaped from the Ukraine during the 2015 war between Ukraine and Russia.  He settled down in Nepal because its the place he dreamed about in his childhood.

Just like our own artisan and craftsman, Mu, Mr. Y is fascinated by Rudrkasha seeds.  He connected with us shortly after after the creation of ZENMU in 2015.  Now Mr. Y owns few stores in Nepal where he deals in Rudrakshas, mainly to Chinese buyers.
Mr. Y is a multi-talented person.  Not only is he a valuable bead hunter for rare and antique beads, he is also a expert in ‘Cloud Body’ connection.  That is when a person looks at the weather and can tell the energy level in a human body.

Mr. H in Tibet

Mr. H. is our direct associate in Tibet. He made Tibet his home decades ago where he traded and collected rare and precious items.  Only now is he making his lifelong collection of crafts and heirlooms available.  Mr. H. is bringing these items forth over time and ZenMu has first pick of his releases.  We are amazed at the array of relics and rare artifacts that became part of this carefully selected collection over the years.  These include vintage and antique beads, malas, jewelry, rugs, stamps, hand woven items, ancient tools and more.  Some of these delicacies become part of the hand crafted items made at ZenMu.

Mr. H. has a deep love and abiding respect for the culture, custom, religion and ways of Tibet . Only objects of meaning, beauty or antiquity became part of his assemblage.  Now wed to a native Tibetan, Mr. H. decided to disseminate his collection in order to have more room in his home to raise a family.  We are pleased to know Mr. H. and be included in the process. We, in turn, make these valuable pieces available to you at affordable prices by virtue of our direct connection.
